Okay so we missed ritz carlton's buffet night tonight so i suggested a steamboat at his place. Just two of us since it was a spontaneous decision :)
We headed off to sheng siong supermart to get the ingredients at around 630pm and finished only at 825pm! Crazy how time flies when you're enjoying and doing grocery shopping! Bill came up to 260 though cos also bought some daily necessities and toiletries :) oh but the disappointing thing was, the only beef slices that were available was only the Beef Sukiyaki and the pieces seemed rather thick..
Drove all the way back and prepared the steamboat-cum-hotplate equipment and we started cooking! And cos the raw meat; bacon slice, beef slice, werent freshly acquired by a butcher directly, bf said i gotta cook my meats really well done too prevent food poisoning..
So for my beef, i tried dipping it for slightly longer while than what i usually would hav done it into the steamboat's chicken soup and then i tasted it. IT WAS VERY TOUGH. Tried with second piece n didnt dip too long, it CAME OUT TOUGH TOO.
Disappointed. But well, the bacon and prawns were good. Ended up have to use the hotplate to cook the beef and hey, nt bad, since it was kinda thick. Cant say it was juicy since they all had to be cooked well done but the bacon was GOOD, some were left there till they hardened like biscuits; crispy yum yum :D
Then bf was full, pretty fast too cos he had the most noodles and there were some left so i boiled them in the steamboat soup and remembered how SW demonstrated how to Fry Egg Noodles using the hotplate and i tried it. Cracked 2 quail eggs onto the noodles and stir fry the whole thing on the hotplate and voila! It was done! Tasted superlicious too! Fed some to bf and he agreed it was Very Tasty and wanted some more hehe
The table initially had A LOT OF LEFTOVER raw beef and bacon and prawns on the table and we cant keep them back in the fridge since its already been out in the open for so long.. Throw them away will be such a waste too.. No choice so i cooked ALL OF THEM on the hotplate..
Good thing we have 2 dogs here so the leftover cooked beef can be fed to them, same goes to the little few pieces of crispy bacon and prawns.. The beef looks yucky in the picture and kinda BURNT very badly but its actually Okay, not too black and burnt :)
Stacy and Kuro loved them and bf even said that they seemed Very Happy with this much food we giving them and they were wagging their tails the whole time! So happy they were, can practically see it in their eyes!
And now they are all soo tired, same for me and bf too plus i have all the 'bbq' smell and oil on my shirt cos i was cooking So much raw meat for the dogs and oil was splashing very violently due to the streaky bacon's oily fats.. Luckily i was not scalded too badly too cos if u see the way the oil jumped up and made the prawns and pieces of meat 'dance' on the hotplate, it was pretty much a mini warzone going on there..
Gonna head off for my shower now! And gona use my new shampoo, Essential (pink one) and i tried the conditioner before, it made my colored hair even more Intense and Vibrant in color so i wonder how does its shampoo do for my hair too, shall find out in a sec!
