Yesterday, my day started out pretty fine.. W called me up while I was halfway sleeping and I don't even know when she called me and I started chatting with her 0.o We were talking about Bachelor Degrees and schools that offer it.. She insisted on opting for Bachelor degree with Honours for her accounting & finance course and also told me that if in the end you don't do that well for that degree, you won't get your Honours and you can just go and die - die because 60K worth of 3 yr sch fees and you failed to get a Honours..hence, rendering the bachelor degree useless...for the courses that offer Honours in it..
For me, I know I won't be able to get A or score super well for maths related stuffs.. I don't do that well with maths; am careless with calculations at times, and seriously, if I took the same course as her, I definitely need a tutor to help me understand how to do accounting and etc.. And possibly be the one who passed WITHOUT Honours.. W has experience with accounting stuffs cos of the job she's working at now and as for me, Im still looking for that 'All Rounder' course that can enable me to work in any kind of job be it business, retail management, marketing, human resource, admin, sales, etc etc.. Basically, a one Degree that can suit any job situation..
Plus currently, I have no drive or goals on what I want to do in the future.. All I know is, I don't want to do/learn something I don't like at all (but might be able to secure me a good career in the future with high pay and all), but instead, I want to do/learn something that I am really interested in and have fun at it too! (even though in the future, it might not secure me a very good career with high pay but if the salary is enough to cope with my living expenses, and plus, I don't feel dread at working in moderate paying jobs, why not right?)
I asked Sharon and SW too.. A lot of mixed suggestions but Sharon was telling me that I shouldn't study for the sake of getting a Degree.. And instead, continue to work for now and if I see where Im heading to (my goals or career direction), then I should start getting a degree.. O also told me that its really pointless to Study a Bachelor Degree course, JUST FOR THE SAKE of Getting a Degree.. Cos there is no passion, no drive..
Last time, diplomas were kinda good when applying for jobs but now times have changed. If you don't have a degree, you won't be considered for the job..
I still feel that getting a degree is much better than just having a diploma.. That way, people won't look you down. Instead, they will look up to you.. Thats what I feel about society these days.. Overall, I don't like maths and I tend to score well for written essays and don't really like hands on stuff (eg. go out ask people do surverys). One thing I do like it interacting with people.. That time I worked at this event with SW, I saw many foreign people Ive never come across before and its like they were gonna drop by for few days and then they will be gone.. Its a pretty nice feeling because there is no pressure in that kind of situation and its nice seeing new faces and people daily..
Next is, my interest isn't business or corporate stuffs.. My interests fall more in the girly things.. Like beauty, and hands on work like maybe, tending to a shop in the mall or something? Something like mcdonalds but not with such a sucky pay..
Right now, I've figured what schools offering degree courses that are suitable for me.. But scully in the end, I might just not study at all and just get a job as a beautician or some other areas related to beauty.. Hai.
Why must we grow up so fast? I haven't had my fill of being a child yet..
